Manta Rays Families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break!  I know it's January but we have already started planning for another great season! :)

Coach Claudia Robles will be returning as the Manta Rays' head coach again this season!  She is looking forward to seeing our swimmers continue to grow their love for swimming.

2016 meet dates have been set.  IF ANY NEW TEAMS join the league before the start of the season, some dates may change.  Remember, all swimmers must commit to 3 or more swim meets in 2016 to be eligible for the swim team.   We want 100% attendance at the Championship Meet (the most important meet of the season).  Please put these meet dates/times on your calendar:

Meet #1 AWAY (Alamo Heights pool) - Saturday May 28th  (Memorial Day weekend)

Meet #2 HOME (Mountain Lodge pool vs Wildhorse) - Monday June 6th

Meet #3 AWAY (Boerne pool) - Monday June 13th

Meet #4 HOME (Mountain Lodge pool vs Cibolo Canyons) - Monday June 20th

**Championship Weekend (ALL SWIMMERS at Palto Alto Natatorium) Sat June 25th/Sun June 26th, time TBA - will not know what division we are in until late MAY.  This year Div 2 & 4 will swim on Saturday and Div 1 & 3 will swim on Sunday.  We usually fall in Division 1 or Division 2 for Champs.

All Star Meet (for qualifying swimmers at Wildhorse Pool) - Tuesday June 28th, time TBA

 

Interested in having the best view during the swim meets?  Train to be a stroke and turn judge.  Below are the dates for NEW stroke and turn judges.  Pick 1 to attend.  We would like to have 2 - 3 NEW parents trained this season. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in being a NEW stroke and turn judge this season.

OBJECTIVE: To familiarize new stroke & turn judges, starters, referees, team reps, and coaches with the MSSL Rules and to answer all questions

Clinic # 1B: Sunday, May 1st   from 2 - 4 p.m.   Location: Club @ Sonterra 901 Sonterra Blvd., San Antonio 78258
Clinic # 2B: Saturday, May 7th from 2 - 4 p.m.   Location: Jewish Community Center 
Clinic # 3B: Sunday, May 15th from 2 - 4 p.m.   Location: Jewish Community Center 

Clinics for RETURNING from the 2015 season - Stroke and Turn Judges, Returning Starters/Meet Refs, Coaches:

OBJECTIVE: To present a review for returning MSSL 2015 stroke & turn judges, starters, referees, and coaches who attended a MSSL 2015 Rules Clinic. The 2016 MSSL league rule changes are discussed and all questions are answered.

Have a swimmer that is a current senior and is going to swim with us summer 2016? The MSSL gives at least two $500 university scholarships each year.  Applications due by March 31, 2016. Click on the link below for more information.
