    Stroke and Turn Judge

    Manta Rays Families,

We need 1-2 more parents trained to be a stroke and turn judge for the meets.  These volunteers get a poolside view of the meet.  These officials help the coaches and swimmers by maintaining a fair competitive environment.  Stroke and Turn Judges will observe the swimmers after the start of a race and report any violations of the stroke and turn rules.  You will attend a 2 hour clinic the first year.

    OFFICIALS' ON DECK TRAINING OPTIONAL
    When: Wednesday, May 20th, 2015

    Where: Jewish Community Center Pool
    Time: 6 - 7 p.m.
    Clinicians: Bruce and Beth Anderson
Objective: Hands-on FOLLOW UP pool side training to the rules clinic conducted by the league's head officials. Judges, starters, and referees will have first attended the rules clinic before participating in the on deck training. Refs and Starters learn to use an electronic start system, what to say, the importance of cadence, and the neuences of using the Dolphin System starter console. Stroke judges learn valuable tips on how to correctly judge stroke technique with swimmers under simulated conditions.
Comments from past attendees included that they felt on-deck training should be mandatory and not voluntary. Attendees stated learning more from this hands-on poolside approach than by just attending a sit down clinic.
Get a jump start on the swim season by not passing up this opportunity to learn more before having to perform your job at the first meet.

Please let us know if you are able to attend the training.

    Sincerely,

    Kelly & Erin
