Note that the Oaks at Sonterra is a gated neighborhood. A security guard will be on duty at the West gate (this procedure will not work at the East gate). Upon arrival at the Oaks West gate proceed through the visitors (left side) access lane. Identify yourself to the guard as a member of the visiting swim team and access will be granted.
WARNING- Do not attempt to enter by tailgating residents, the laser arm is programmed for single car access. Should you have folks arriving after the guard departs (at 10am), they should proceed to the visitor call box in the left access lane, call security at #000 and let them know they are here for the swim meet. Please be patient, and DO NOT ENTER THROUGH THE EXIT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
IMPORTANT! For returning and new families, we are making every effort to sit as a team, even at away meets! A big thank you to those families who did this at our home meet! It made things much easier for the ready bench parents, and the general flow of the meet, and we appreciate your cooperation! The Oaks of Sonterra has designated an area for our team! Once you enter the pool area, our team seating area is the grassy area closest to the baby pool on the left. PLEASE respect our host team and sit in the area they have asked us to occupy.
We ask you to remember that space will be tight and to please bear with us as we do everything we can to make everyone comfortable, the meet runs smoothly and most of all ensure the safety of our swimmers!
Please remember to bring chairs and pop up tents for shade. There is a list on the website of items needed for a meet. Document is called “Preparing for a Meet”; this would probably be good for EVERYONE to review! Please bring plenty of small bills for the concession stand and heat sheets ($2)! We request no outside food & drinks as this is how our team makes money for our necessities! We are down to 3 sharpies from the original 36 we started with, so bring sharpies with you (and if you have a sharpie in your pool bag, please return)! Sunscreen is a must and bug spray will be necessary with the amount of rain we have had recently!
If you have an emergency, your contact is Kelly Hunt. Please text her at (210)316-9086! She will get word to Coach Claudia and all necessary meet personnel!
Please be there for check in no later than 7:30am (7:15 if possible)!
Our warm up is at 7:45am sharp to 8:15am!
Opposing team will warm up before us!
Meet will begin at 8:30am sharp, this early start is necessary in order to end the meet in a timely manner!
These times are VERY important; if you do not arrive for check in by 7:30am your swimmer will be scratched from the first relays!
It is imperative that you come to the Manta Ray check in table, we will give you a small pink (for girls) or blue (for boys) slip of paper that tells you the events you are swimming. You will still need to buy a heat sheet for information on your heat and lane details, but if you do not check in, we do not know you are at the meet & you will be scratched from your event! So please make sure you check in with the volunteers at the check in table!
If your swimmers are in events 1-4, please make sure they are at ready bench immediately following team cheer!
We have a lot of new families, so please step up and help if you see someone struggling or looking lost! We are a team and a family, it takes all of us to make these meets happen! Also, please show our wonderful Manta Ray gratitude to the hosting team!
CONCESSIONS will include, breakfast tacos, baked goods, snacks, water and soft drinks!
Most of all have fun and enjoy the night! We are glad to have you all as part of the Manta Rays Family! We’re flying past you – fast and first!
Please email if you have any questions!
Thank you,
Brooke Miller
