MEET #2 INFORMATION
June 9th
Hello Manta Ray Families,
Our 2nd meet is tomorrow night (Monday, June 10th) at our own Seven Winds Pool and we are ready to take to the water! We are swimming against the Heights of Stone Oak and I am asking that we all show them our best Manta Ray Spirit!
Pool address is:
24108 Seven Winds
San Antonio, TX 78258
(in case you have guests coming this is the address & the front and back gates should both be open for easy entrance into the neighborhood!)
There is no phone at the pool, there is an emergency phone only!
IMPORTANT! For returning and new families, we are making every effort to sit as a team! This means swimmers sitting just outside the fence (between the fence and the rock wall) with swimmers of their own age group (this is home base) and families at the top and on the grassy hill. Pop ups may only be set up for spectators at the top of the hill on Seven Winds. The covered cabana area is for our guest team ONLY! We have limited shade & giving this area is a decision that we have come to in order to be hospitable and will be strictly enforced! This is a change for our returning families so please make sure you sit on the grassy hill, at the top of the grassy hill or we will allow one row of chairs up against the fence. You cannot put up tents or blankets on the fence if you choose to sit in this one row of chairs as it will obstruct the view of people behind you!
To further clarify, if you are standing at the shallow end of the pool looking at the deep end of the pool our team will be sitting to the right of the pool. The swimmer “home base” (where they should be sitting with their age group when not swimming) is just outside the fence between the fence and the rock wall. Manta Ray families should sit on the grassy hill or at the top of the grassy hill if they want to put up a tent (no tents on the hill as it will obstruct view of others). Our ready bench will be just outside the fence at the deep end of the pool, please be aware of which event we are on and help swimmers know when they should be in the ready bench area. The Meet Officials tent will be on the Manta Ray side of the pool at the deep end so please do not set up there, as you will have to move!
The guest team will have the entire left side of the cabana area (if you are standing in the pool parking lot looking at the pool) {the right side will be concessions, scorekeeping table and officials area}. They will also have the grassy area next to this behind the baby pool, and one row of chairs along the fence on the deck. Their ready bench will be on the deck at the deep end of the pool!
We ask you to remember that space will be tight and to please bear with us as we do everything we can to make everyone comfortable, the meet run smoothly and most of all ensure the safety of our swimmers!
Please remember to bring chairs and pop up tents for shade. There is a list on the website of items needed for a meet. Document is called “Preparing for a Meet”; this would probably be good for EVERYONE to review! Please bring plenty of small bills for the concession stand and heat sheets ($2)! We request no outside food & drinks as this is how our team makes money for our necessities!
Concessions will include: pizza, Chic-fil-a chicken nuggets, nachos, frito pies, slushies, chips, candy, fruit, sodas, gatorade, water and various other items! Thank you for supporting the Manta Rays with your purchases!
If you have an emergency, your contact is Kelly Hunt. Please text her at (210)316-9086! She will get word to Coach Claudia and all necessary meet personnel!
Please be there for check in no later than 4:00pm (3:45 if possible)!
Warm up is at 4:15pm sharp to 4:45pm!
Opposing team will warm up from 4:45 to 5:15pm!
Meet will begin at 5:30pm sharp, this early start is necessary in order to end the meet in a timely manner!
These times are VERY important; if you do not arrive for check in by 4:00pm your swimmer will be scratched from the first relays!
Even though family set up is at the top of the hill, it is imperative that you come to the Manta Ray check in table (just inside the gate by the men’s restroom), we will give you a small pink (for girls) or blue (for boys) slip of paper that tells you the events you are swimming. You will still need to buy a heat sheet for information on your heat and lane details, but if you do not check in, we do not know you are at the meet & you could be scratched from your event! So please make sure you check in with the volunteers at the check in tables!
If your swimmers are in events 1-4, please make sure they are at ready bench immediately following team cheer!
We will also try to run Meetmobile app, no promises. It was great after the meet was over last week, but not during the meet. It is a great tool, but our league is just learning how to use it!
We have a lot of new families, so please step up and help if you see someone struggling or looking lost! We are a team and a family, it takes all of us to make these meets happen! Also, please show our wonderful Manta Ray hospitality to the visiting team!
Most of all have fun and enjoy the night! We are glad to have you all as part of the Manta Rays Family!
Please email if you have any questions!
Thank you,
Brooke Miller
